Hello Fishhuggers!  The salmon are running...and the NM Grower's Markets
are  filled with lots of local veggies, fruits, raw honey, eggs and more! 
You can find me at the following grower's markets:

Thursdays 3-6pm
Nob Hill (Morningside Park, Lead between Morningside & Aliso)

Saturdays 7-11am
Los Ranchos (City Hall, 6718 Rio Grande NW)

Sundays 9-Noon
Corrales (Rec Center, 500 Jones Rd, next to post office)

Here is what I'll have available this week:

NM Grassfed Beef:
Ground Beef~Great for burgers on the grill & tacos.
Round Steaks~Marinate overnight in red wine, garlic & whole peppercorns,
hot sear on grill 1min per side...yum!
Ribeye Steaks~My favorite steak, well marbled grassfat.
Brisket & Roasts~About 2.5-5lbs each, great for slow cooking and then
keeping the kitchen cool a few days while you eat the wonderful leftovers.

Wild Alaska Salmon:
Sockeye Salmon Fillets~Darkest red, highest Omega-3 oil content, my
favorite salmon.  Ask me about a case (25lb) purchase.
Silver/Coho Salmon Fillets~Mild flavor, easy to cook.
Silver/Coho Salmon Bacon~Best cut of the fish, boneless belly section, use
for salmon tacos.
King Salmon Fillet/Steaks~Least abundant of all Wild Pacific Salmon, also
the tastiest.
Halibut Fillet~Boneless, skinless, blast frozen the day it was caught! 
Black Cod Fillet~Sablefish is the true name, also called Butterfish in
Tokyo.  Extra oily and delicious.
Smoked Black Cod, Salmon & Halibut~Fully cooked and cured, ready to eat,
great in omelets, salads, dips.  No nitrates, MSG or preservatives. Salmon
Cakes~Made by the Downtown Gourmet, heat and serve.

True Food Trivia:  Q)  Which country spends the most per child on school
lunch?  A)  France is #1 spending about $8 per head, Italy is #2 spending
about $5.  What about the USA?  A bit further down the list...spends a
whopping 35 cents per child on school lunch.

Kenny has been in Kodiak for almost a month now, high temps have been in
the mid 50s this week with lots of rain (great fishing weather).  Captain
and crew have already caught several tons of salmon.  The season is off to
a great start.
